If you've been following my work, then you'll know that besides having a thing for pirates, I'm also very influenced by fairy tales.
And not just the Disney versions that the general public knows, but all of the older and varied versions as well. Beauty and the Beast
happens to be a particular favorite, and I've read countless different versions. For a while now I've been wanting to try tackling
illustrating my own version (to do my own book would be a dream come true).

This summer I had the chance to try and do at least one solid illustration. I'm pretty happy with it.
This was drawn on an 11"x14" surface on watercolor paper using ink pens and ink washes. Completed in August of 2006.
