- Bono Vox -

U2 is my all time favorite band. I've been wanting to make a new U2 picture for a while now, ever since I took a whole bunch of photos of the band when
I saw them in Buffalo in December of 2005. This picture is based on one of those photos that I took. It was drawn on watercolor paper and then all of
the color was added digitally in Photoshop. It was completed in January of 2007.

For those curious about the title of this picture, and if you were ever wondering where his nickname came from, here's an explanation. Bono's real name is Paul Hewson.
When he was younger, he and his friends used to regularly pass a hearing aid store in Dublin called "Bonavox". His friend Gavin Friday started calling
him Bono Vox, claiming that he sang loud enough for the deaf to hear him. Bono wasn't originally too crazy about his nickname, but when he found out that in
Latin the phrase "Bono Vox" loosely translates to "good voice", he decided to keep the name. It went through a few evolutions - Bono Vox and Bono Vox of
O'Connell Street - before it was finally shortened to Bono.
