I've been interested in art since I was a little kid. Back when I was a small little Jackie I used to pause animated videos and draw whatever was on the screen. As such, movies have always been a big inspiration to me, and I love looking at production art and storyboards for films. Comics, illustrated books, video game designs and fashion are other more contemporary inspirations. As you can see, the artists that inspire me are quite varied as well. I love checking out art from character designers for video games, animators, childrens' book illustrators, production artists for films, as well as classic painters and illustrators.
Since my interests are so varied, I tend to experiment with a lot of different art forms and media. My strengths lie with drawing and painting, but I've also tried my hand at metal smithing, ceramics, lithography, sculpting, and computer animation. I jump back and forth between painting and drawing with real media and digital media all the time. It's not unusual for me to start a picture on paper and finish it on the computer. I find that I'm often able to get some of my strongest results by combining traditional and digital art techniques, and you'll find many examples of such pictures throughout my portfolio.
