03.27.03 Thursday @10:59 PM EST It's been a busy week so I really have nothing more interesting than this to post at the moment. It's just a bunch of random doodles from class notes and such. You can always tell how boring the class was that day by looking at how illustrated my notes are. And all of those creature drawings from my computer graphics project are in the archive for this month if you're looking for them. 03.24.03 Monday @11:26 PM EST This is just part of an assignment for my illustration class. This sketch happens to be about a boy who's out adventuring in the woods and believes he stumbles across some sort of monster. And I think the mythological creature project worked out ok. I just have to clean up a few things on it and then I'll upload it to the net. 03.23.03 Sunday @9:54 PM EST That is one seriously ugly dude, er, cyclops. @7:40 PM EST Here's a unicorn as well. I really hope this project comes out alright. @5:38 PM EST And the dragon says, "RO-OO-OAA-ARRRR!!!!" 03.22.03 Saturday @4:20 PM EST I'm doing a project in Macromedia Director for my computer graphics class that has to do with some mythological creatures. For a lot of the images I'm drawing them on paper as normal and then coloring them in Photoshop. Here's a phoenix, which is just one of the creatures I'll be using. 03.20.03 Thursday @11:22 PM EST Here are two different fairy drawings that I finished today. Not too much to explain about them really. But I was quite proud of myself for getting the one image all colored in just a few hours. And a bunch of entries have been added into the archive, just to make this main page load a bit quicker. 03.18.03 Tuesday @1:37 AM EST In my illustration class my teacher decided to have us storyboard out either a short story or a commercial of some sort. The only catch was that Gumby had to be the main character. So we were all required to buy a Gumby (which is a lot harder to find than you'd think) to use for reference. I opted for the commerical storyboard. My Dad runs marathons, and on some of the occasions that I've watched I've seen a person in a Gumby costume running in the race. I don't remember if this is the NYC or Boston Marathon. But it's become kind of a running joke (har har, no pun intended) with the marathons, so I thought I'd do one of those Nike Running commercials. Except this time Gumby is actually in the race and he wins. 03.06.03 Thursday @8:40 PM EST Ok, so I know this isn't a sketch, but it is from one of my original photographs. I was playing with it in Photoshop and thought it came out looking kinda cool. The original photo is below the Photoshopped image. I took the picture at Rosedown Plantation in Louisiana in December of 2002. It's a gorgeous place. Looks like something straight out of Gone With the Wind. 03.05.03 Wednesday @12:43 AM EST Kind of a darker theme than what I normally draw like, but variety's nice. It's fun to try new things. The arm behind the wings is totally wrong, but I just couldn't decide where I wanted to put it. Anyhow, this does have a little bit of potential, so I might try sketching out a new version sometime. Oh, and I'm gonna be getting a Wacom tablet. Yay! 03.04.03 Tuesday @1:24 AM EST Whee, look at me not doing my homework. I can't help it, my illustration assignment is bo-o-oring. And it's due tomorrow at 1pm. Guess who's gonna be up late tonight? Oh yes, that would be me. *sigh* I'd so much rather draw whatever I want right now. 03.03.03 Monday @6:35 PM EST I think I figured out what kind of image I want to do for the new portfolio layout. It's going to be a pirate theme, and this is the basic way I want it to look. It probably looks like a bunch of scribbles to you, but I can decipher it :-) And all of the drawings from February have been archived. 03.02.03 Saturday @10:04 PM EST Pippin is definitely my favorite hobbit :-) I'm still debating whether or not I'll turn this sketch into a finished colored image. Depends on how much time I find myself with. But he's juggling apples! Maybe they're from his second breakfast? 03.01.03 Saturday @10:29 PM EST I finally got around to finishing that faerie drawing that I started a while back. I like the leaves and her wings best in the picture. The wings were a bit tricky, but they came out with the transparent and veiny look that I wanted. I don't think "veiny" is actually a word, but that's ok. | | |
