More test renders from my animation that is due on December 5th. This is the finalized version of how it's going to look. I just need to finish tweaking the movement in some of the playing cards and then I can render it all. The plan is to have all that done before I go home for Thanksgiving on Tuesday so that I can do post-production all that week when I get back. Cross your fingers!

Yesterday in painting studio everyone's completed paintings for the third project were critiqued. Mine got a pretty good reception. I still may go back and tweak a few details (ie. the hairline along the top of the forehead needs a bit of a shadow because the contrast is currently too sharp there) and I need to do a final top glaze on it when it's completely dry. I snapped a photo of it while I was in the studio working on Tuesday night. You'll have to take my word on the fact that the colors look 150% better in real life - the lighting in the studio wasn't exactly ideal for photographing.

Anyhow, here's the meaning behind the painting, since the assignment had to deal with symbolism and the like. This is a self portrait. It's pretty much about my anxiety about being a senior, with graduation looming in May and all the stress of stepping out into the so-called real world. Finding a job and stuff. It's also about how last semester I figured out that I would have much preferred to be an illustration major instead of a computer graphics major, but I was too far along to change that or else I would have had to probably go to school for at least another year, which I have no desire to do. That's why you get the pixelated background (computer graphics) versus the old fashioned flower pattern (illustration). The flower pattern was inspired by a print on the inside of an old envelope that I have. That and the border, which is art nouveau inspired, reflect my interest in illustration from the 1940's and earlier, Japanese woodblock prints and patterns, art nouveau, and other older illustration styles.

This painting is 32" by 36" and is the largest painting I've ever made to date. Now only one more left to do for class this semester, but I have no clue yet what I'm going to paint. That one is due December 3 - eek!!

These are a handful of the doodles from my medieval history notebook. As you may have guessed, the professor's lectures are incredibly dull.

These are just some ideas for a tattoo that I'm designing for a friend.

More progress on that 32" by 36" oil painting I'm working on for class. It's really not that yellow toned, but the lighting in the room made the photo look kinda funky. And you get to see some of the messy painting studio too. Aren't you the luckly little devil.

These are some test renders for the animation I'm working on for my computer graphics studio (due December 5th - eek!!). It obviously still has a lot of work to be done with movement, textures, and lighting, but it's coming along.

11.02.03 Sunday @6:42 PM EST

I snapped a quick picture while I was in the studio today. This is an oil painting I'm working on for a class assignment and it obviously still has a ton of work that needs to be done on it. It measures 32" by 36". It's a big painting.
