I designed this picture to use for my 2005 holiday card that I'll be sending out to people. This picture was a bit of an experiment. All of the lineart was inked on watercolor paper and some simple ink washes were then applied. The trees in the background were painted on a separate sheet of paper with ink. The snow was on a separate sheet of paper as well. They were all scanned in, edited, and pieced together in Photoshop before I added the color with my tablet. I think the end result works pretty well. I was going for kind of an older illustration type of feel. It was especially nice to work with a simple color scheme after working on a couple of color intense pictures.
A larger version of this picture can be viewed here. Also, prints of this picture are now available for purchase!

Just a picture I started painting in Photoshop the other night. I felt like doing something fun and frivolous. And my portfolio has been updated.

Yay! It's finished. I wanted to get it all completed yesterday before Lost came on TV so that I wouldn't be distracted. I got the idea for this picture after spending a few days raking leaves outside. It's inspired by my love of autumn and my love of fairy tales. This isn't specifically Sleeping Beauty, but more of just a general fairy tale-esque picture.
The line art was inked on paper and then I painted on a series of ink washes. After that, I scanned it and all the color was added in Photoshop with my tablet. A much larger version of it can be viewed here and a step by step version of this can be found here.
Prints are available right here!

I doodled this real quick on the airplane going to Florida, using a picture in the Sky Mall catalogue for reference. Yay Batman!
Also, there are some minor updates at my portfolio and all of the sketch blog drawings for October have been archived.
