Anyone who knows me knows that I have a thing for the ocean and sailors and pirates. I started this picture a while back and would go for long periods of time without working on it. As such, many parts of this were done and then re-done as I learned more or decided that I wanted it to look a different way. I will say that after all the time I've spent on this (I lost track of the hours long ago), I've grown quite attached to my pirate guy. It's nice to see him finally finished.
This image was created entirely in Photoshop with my tablet. A larger version of this can be viewed here. And prints are available for sale!
Also, there's been a lot of updates over at my portfolio, including a new look for the site! Go take a look.

I've always thought that Belle's ballgown would look so much prettier as more of a rich, dusky gold color than a bright yellow. One of these days I'd like to have a Belle costume for Halloween. If I had any skill at sewing I would make the dress in this style. Rich embroidery, layered skirts, and beading to catch the light.

It's been a while since I've done a self-portrait of myself that I actually like, so I thought I'd try tackling doing one in a slightly different style - it was a lot of fun to do. I used a photo that I took of myself as reference and did this all in Photoshop with my tablet. I don't know if I even consider this a strict self-portrait, since it's so design oriented. I got the idea to make it after spending some time browsing through album cover art. But anyhow, there it is.

I drew these for an autumn themed invitation that I designed for a business function my dad's office was holding. They were all inked on paper and colored in Photoshop, and then I later used them when designing the layout for the invitation.

Here's something new that I started in photoshop tonight. I'm using one of my own photographs as reference. I'll be working on this some more tonight, except for when I take a break for Lost. It's ridiculous how quickly I've become addicted to that show.
I'd also like to say thank you very much to all who took the time to vote for my cover illustration for the Phantom contest. Unfortunately, I didn't win, but I still appreciate all of the support that I got. You guys rock!
And on a random note, Serenity is out in theatres! Go see it and take some friends with you. Who knows, maybe you'll turn them into fellow Browncoats. Besides, the more people that see it, the better our chances of getting a sequel.
